Hey, whats up I have been looking around for a 90-93 Teg, well a few days ago i came across a 93 teg for $125.00 but it doesnt come with the motor tranny axles or exhaust, but the rest of the car is in great shape. I was thinking about buying the car since I was looking to buy an 90-93 and do a swap and a few other things so I thought that this was a great deal, I called him today to talk about it and he said that he is selling the whole car ( Without tranny motor etc.. ) cuz he needs the money fast and he said he was really selling the car for 125 cuz it had great brakes and he said he was going to part the whole car out so he could make more money, but that he has no time and needs the money fast, i told him that I am interested, but that I need him to email me pics of the engine bay, Interior, exterior and a few other things, he lives 9 hrs from me, but this seems like a great deal i think it would be worth the drive
If I do get this car i'll be spending all year working on it ( I'm young and have to take it slow cuz of lack of money )
I was wondering if you guys could let me know if this is a good deal and what you think about it

BTW I was saving up for a 90-93 teg anyway so i see it as options

A) Save up 2k for a cheap car and have it stock and then have to save up another 2k for the swap
B)buy this car for 125 and save up the 2k and swap in the B16A tranny ecu etc...

Either way I dont think i'll be done for a few months 4+

I got a few questions,
The car doesnt come with axles and I was wondering how much new axles would cost for the car ( I did search and found them for $75 each ) does the axle I get depend on the engine I swap in?
I have more questions but cant think of them right now

it does/doesnt matter what engine you put back in, most of the swaps for that car do come with axles if you apy for a full swap. you do have to use a cable trans though....and if you put a vtec swap in it, you have to wire up the vtec solenoid and a few other things maybe....

Definitely get it, but how much do you have to spend? Make sure you have enough to buy the parts and stuff so it doesn't just sit there collecting dust.

The motor is a B16A Yah i know that the most commen but its als the cheapest for the HP you get, I mean 160+ HP is ok for me, my current 87 ls only has 115HP so I'll be happy, + the mods will increase the HP on the B16 so I think that the right choice, if you all think other, please let me know why

If nothing else get the car, put it up on jacks and strip it down and e-bay everything on it. Save the money and build you current car. That is assuming you have a current car. But either way get it!!!!

you know what pisses me off- nothing like that will ever ever ever happen to me. ever. goddam it. buy that **** man! r u crazy! buy it NOW!!! 125 bucks? thats like a fukin weeks worth of pay working 3 days a week! that would never ever happen to me.

 

i found a 92 captiva blue ls with a knocking motor for 500 bucks, the interior is mint, the body had 2 little rust spots and one of the tail lights was cracked. i was so happy when i found that car, now i just want to sell it.

 

Seriously, you find a cheap as car but then you get tired of looking at it cause you don't have the funds or time to work on it so you want to just sell it.

 

Hey, He just sent me a few pictures of the car, looks ok I cant put any up cuz i dont have a host, Is car domain free or does it cost?
In the pictures I can see it use to be manual so its all good there, then engine bay looks alright but the front bumper on one side is hanging somewhat,
But thats not the problem its trying to convence my parents that this is a good deal, but the other problem is finding a way to get it here I was thinking about shipping but I dont know how much that is goin to be and I want to drive but I dont have a truck and i'd have to spend 1 day getting there and then another day coming back but if my parents help me out and figure a way i'd go friday or sat and come back sat or sun, guess we'll just see
