1999 civic odometer specs
Hi, I would like to if anyone can tell me if a 1999 civic has two ways of displaying the mileage of the car? Someone told me that some cars they can tell the mileage from the diagnostic machine they hook up to the vehicle. Like an internal reading on the computer. Seperate from the digital or anolog odometer. Thanks, Greg

Hi guys, no I'm not turning back the odometer. I'm trying to get some info on my mother-in-laws civic. She has a 1999 civic that she bought brand new. It has 36,000 miles on the odometer and she went to a honda dealer to trade it in and they told her it had 75,000 miles on it. She is 79 years old and I think they are trying to rip her off. Thats why I'm asking is there an internal reading in the computer part of the car that they can't change? The car has 36,000 miles and they told her it actually has 75,000 and that it isn't really safe to drive. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me any information on this odometer question. Thanks, Greg

How does having 75,000 make it unsafe? Hondas don't break in until about 100k
Tell her to get a new mechanic!

uhh yeah I agree. It sounds like they are trying to pull something on her. I'd find a different dealer and contact Honda of America and file a complaint.

Id go up there and find out who she talked to and go have a chat with the owner of the dealership. Sounds like they were trying to pull a fast one on her.
