Default prices of o2 sensor

Hi i was woundering if anyone here has ever priced o2 "oxygen" sensors for there 96 civic ex. the prices i been getting are 69.00 for a universal one that you crimp the wires into your stock wires. and for ones that plug in OEM fitment they want like 200 and something dollars for the first one and like 400 and something for the second one... and your suppose to change them every couple years... 600.00 just for 2 sensors. what the hell is honda thinking here... i could own a BMW for cheaper then what some of honda parts cost... by the way thoses prices i got weren't even from honda they where from like auto zone and sites off the internet... god knows what honda wants for them... but can anyone tell me where to get OEM fitment ones for cheaper then 600.00.. for that price i could just get a whole new d16y8 engine... hehe thanks everyone

with a little patience and the right pins you could solder some pins on the universal and repin the connector, or just cut the old connector off of your used one and solder and heatshrink the connectors

you shouldn't have any problems with that if you are any bit mechanically inclined

yea but are those universal ones just as good as the oem ones... cause 70 bucks is alot cheaper then 400 but i am just worried that there not going to read right and throw codes... but i guess they wouldn't sell them if they couldn't do the job..

http://www.oxygensensors.com

OEM Replacement [Walker]:

Upstream - $62.50
Downstream - $89.90

OEM Replacement [Denso]:

Upstream - $75.99
Downstream - $104.99

I always use NTK brand OEM replacement o2 sensors...give NOPI a call, they usually have pretty good prices [it's where I always buy mine].

I bought my OEM replacement from PepBoys for $79 a few weeks ago. Mine was for a 97 Dx, and it was the primary.
