215/50/r15 on crx? h&r wheel spacer? anyone using them?
Well i use to have 205's on both my crxs but i would like to go 215's for that much better traction all the way around. i know i can get it in the back but in the front?? i know my 205's would hit the frame a little u can see rub marks. Im wondering if some H&R spacers would handle this? I mean the cars short so cant go to wide or u turn into a box and will spin out because of centrifical force. I dont have wheels yet on it so im not sure of the clearance as it is right now when i do get wheels.
The car wont be tucked so im assuming the H&R spacers will be fine ...i mean i can run 205's. I really want to know how these h&R spacers perform and what size u might be using, wider is better. i would like to get 40mm-60mm because they bolt onto ur old hub. I dont think i understand. The hubs i think said 40mm so 20mm each side.Im into handling/ braking performance.

yeah your gonna want to go with 20mm on each and not 40 each make sure thats the sizing. actually SCCA and NASA limit racers to only 2 inches(20mm). If your into handling/braking. After that if you havent already got it. work on lightweight wheels (9-11lbs) w/nice tires, full coilover suspension, polyurethane bushings, camber kits, anti-roll/sway bars, chasis braces. and you should be done. Modifying suspension is so much easier and cheaper then building up a motor.

If you're running street tires, then just forget it. It's not worth the trouble or effort. Once you start using R-compounds, then you can start worrying about such things.
Going from a 205 to a 215 isn't necessarily going to give you "that much better traction all the way around." There are other variables too . . . and as I said, if you're on street tires, it's worthless.
If your 205s are rubbing on the frame already, then either you're way too low, or your springs aren't nearly stiff enough. How do you expect to properly utilize a tire without a decent suspension setup? You're worrying about the wrong things; you need to get your priorities straight.
You don't need spacers if you get wheels with the proper offset to begin with.

Yes i understand this. But i mean what am i gonna use? Drift wheels? Those have a HUGE offset but i have yet to see anything for a front wheel drive thats light with a nice offset. Thats why im going for wheel spacers..

You're not going to get away with much of anything unless you have stiff springs (500 lbs-in +) plus plenty of negative camber, and/or you raise your car. Any offset lower than +38 with a 205 or wider tire will rub on the fenders otherwise.
I was running 13x8" wheels with a +25 offset and 205/60-13 race tires for autocrosses this past summer. I have 500f/600r spring rates and am not very low - but I still had to raise the car up to leave about 3" of wheel gap at either end to avoid rubbing, because the tires stuck out at least an inch and a half past the bodywork.
So as I was saying, forget the spacers and buy wheels with an offset between +38 and +45. Or you could just not listen to me, and regret it later when you have problems . . .
What do you intend to do with this car?

not to jack your thread but I am wanting to go with bigger tires too. right now I have 195/50/15. I have a 40mm offset and I am lowered about 2 inches do you think I would rub with 205/50/15?
Thanks

Thanks

no ud be good. My crx with the Ls swap didnt even rub when i had 205, 50 R15. I also had 205/45/R16 with 42mm offset and tiny rub on inside frame when turned all the way. But my springs were so stiff the ride sucked. Well its going to be street and track but for now just street so im thinking just the 205's is plenty. But im gonna have integra brakes again so i can only go 15+.
