Prelude or GSR????

Thinking of buying another car soon. My 2 choices are 98 and up gsr or 97 and up prelude. I would consider a getting an ITR, but i like cars with moon roof . I can get good deal on both cars, around $7500 each. I've already had 2 gsr's and i really like gsr's but thinking of getting a prelude. I like how the gsr's can rev up to 8200 rpm b4 fuel cut-off. Does anyone know are gsr's faster or preludes? I've only driven a automatic(tiptronic) prelude before. Of course if i was to get one i would get manual. I would only use the car for a daily driving, to and from school, not really into racing or going to the track with cars. I like going to the track with street bikes, its way more fun.
Gsr - 170hp 128 lb. torque
Prelude - 200hp and 150ish lb. torque
i know the prelude has more hp and torque but they are heavy. I've beaten many preludes with my old GSR with just intake while the prelude has i/h/e, but it could be the driver just suck. So my question is stock vs. stock and equal driver, which car is faster?

prelude vtec gonna be faster out of the box. Preludes are nice cars but Ill take the gsr any day. It kills me to see a prelude let alone drive one knowing how it would have been one of the sickest cars out if it were real wheel drive. Come one think about it. That car was made to be rear wheel drive. They just pussied out.

LOL. Who cares about 1-3 MPG.
Performance goes to the prelude. However the B series has a better aftermarket. Cant go wrong with either one unless you get the prelude in auto.

i like both, i like the prelude with the OEM lip kit. The gsr, i like it, since it's a hatchback and is more roomy in the back plus gets better gas milage, and also i can do a JDM front end converison. But since i've already had 2 gsr's, im leaning toward the prelude. Also, is there a big difference between the 97 preludes, cuz i know the 97 preludes has 195hp and the 98 and up has 200hp. Does the prelude type-sh with the ATTS handle much more superior than the base model?
thanks

I have a 98 GSR and one of my good friend has a 2k Prelude. His interior is nicer and the panels don't rattle like my GSR does. We have raced several times from a 40mph roll, I have I/E while he has I/H/E and I always beat him. If the Preludes weren't so heavy, I would consider buying one but for now I like the performance of the B18C1 and can't wait to be boosted some day.

it is not more roomy in the back of a gsr than a prelude. they both suck ****. as terms of speed, the gsr and prelude are awfully damn close with i/h/e two of my coworkers used to go at it and they would both win sometimes.

i also like the sound of a B-series engine when its being revved, just sounds sooo clean...my homie has a prelude, its pretty quick and he lets me drive it all the time, but id rather drive my teg.
how tall are you? i'm 6' and i barely fit in the gsr, had to hunch over when i test drove a 2000 prelude. of course, i don't like to drive laying down, so that might have something to do with it....
just something more to consider. all in all, i like the look/quality of the prelude more than the gsr, but the integra has the right amount of aftermarket support for what i want to do with it. so if you're going to mod the car (more than just i/h/e, etc...), the integra would be the better of the two.
good luck with your choice

I CARE...have you seen gas prices now a days? that little of difference will add up in time.

who said the type r's didnt come with a sunroof...im pretty sure the 2001 model comes with sunroof and ac.....the 98's were the ones with like no comfort features....dont quote me on it...but im pretty damn sure the type r's have a sun roof....

I disagree, the SH is worse, its heavier, ATTS is horrible in the rain, and after a certain HP its impossible to work with.

EXACTLY, i don't know what gas is like in you other guy's states, but nor cal prices can go over $2.60 a gallon
but back on topic, everyone has an integra, i would say to go with the lude since its almost the same as the gsr track-wise. if u look for mods for a prelude, you will find them.

~97+ prelude in terms of power is equivalent to a 94+ gsr since it's heavy and gearing are not too great
~93-96 prelude on another hand is on bar to a 97-98/00-01 type r performance
94-01 integra w/ jdm itr front ~ 8 thumbs up
97-00 prelude 6 thumbs up
92-96 prelude vtec 7 thumbs up

thanks for the advice guys, i like both, each have it's advantges but the GSR has more. So i guess, which ever one that catches my attention more i will get that one. And to the guy who said that Type-R's have sun roof, they don't..... Type-R's don't come with sun roof unless if it was cutom made. I have seen 1 type-r with a sun roof but it was a Canadian model and i heard it was a option from the dealer to have it put on.
