I thought that this would be a fun thread for us all to post in. 
How many turbo setups have you had on all your cars combined?
I'm on my first motor, turbo kit and car.

well, I'm still a newb... but so far I'm cruisin on my third motor and second turbo setup (went from drag kit to all custom)...
I wonder what some of those seasoned guys have been through

let's see......first I went w/ the greddy kit on my factory d16z6. Then that went out, so I threw in a B20/Vtec.......and now I have a built d16z6 w/a custom turbo kit mankin a good amount of power

This is going to be a good thread..
Motors-
1-B17a motor- had a 75 shot on it and then boosted it. blew head gasket and bent valves
2-JDM b16 motor-drove it stock-SOLD
3-FULLY BUILT LS/VTEC motor- ran lean.
4-Now Another stock JDMB16 with sc61 tuned.
5-In the works fullybuilt motor ready to put in.
turbo & nitrious kit-
1-NX kit-sold
2-Rev hard stage 2 kit with sc34 -part out
3- custom turbo setup- inline pro manifold, sc61, precison 600whp IC, 3inch downpipe, hondata,etc..

I'm about to put in the 3rd motor and 3rd turbo next month. 2nd tranny and clutch too. None were replaced becasue of failure though, just to go faster, except the stock clutch that slipped in 4th and 5th but still worked fine.
In my 95 hatch its started with the d15b7 i drove with that for a couple weeks. Next i swapped in a d16z6 and ran all motor for a couple months than slapped on a custom turbo kit. Now my car is awaiting a b18b with turbo.

Here is my race car saga in my crx..
1. Running a D15B2 dual-point stock motor with a 55 shot of nitrous on it.. It ran 17.2 without nitrous and 16.4 with it.. It was a beater motor and ran for ****..
2. Swapped in a D15B7 motor and did the mpfi conversion on it.. Ran 15.8 without nitrous and 14.85 with 55 shot..
3. Swapped in a D16Y7 motor and ran a Garrett/Airesearch T3 turbo @ 12psi, 3" exhaust, AEM EMS, and a bunch of other goodies and got a best time of 12.75@108 and was putting out 200whp on the dyno..
4. Getting ready to swap in a B16A 2nd gen motor with YS1 cable trans and will be running a Turbonetics T4 and hoping to get 300+whp on a stock block..

1st setup:
stock d16y8 + intake + 55 shot Zex

2nd setup:

3rd and a half setup:
same built z6 block + built y8 head + the turbo setup from the 3rd setup
tuned for 14psi but never dynoed... my guess was like 280-320whp range
blew a headgasket... fixed that... 2 days later it spun a rod bearing as well.
Winter 2004
4th setup:
stock LS + custom kit with a 60-1 hifi
working on it now...

2nd: NA Poor Man's R, stock GSR block - 165hp, 120 torque
3rd: NA Poor Man's R, 11:1 CR, B16a pistons, CTR cams - 185hp, 135 torque
4th: NA Poor Man's R - 12:1 CR , 81.5mm JE pistons, DPR head - 201hp, 138 torque
5th: Turbo, Poor Man's R (SAME MOTOR as above, w/ .074" HG, 50 trim t3/t04e
), 10.5:1 CR, GSR cams 7psi - 260hp, 190 torque, 10psi - 300hp, 230 torque.

1. 00 b16a2 with JE 9:1 pistons/Eagle Rods and Greddy TD05-18G Kit....275whp/216ftlb of torque @ 13psi. Sold to move out and do some other things.
2. Stock 92 JDM b16a with GT35E turbo-306whp/215ftlb of torque @ 12psi. Rings blew after 2 months. Never changed anything on motor as far as rings/headgasket went.
3. Stock 94 JDM b16a with GT35E turbo-311whp/217ftlb of torque @ 12psi. Rings went again after another month. This motor was just to get in until built motor was done.
4. Built JDM b16 with JE 10.1:1 Pistons/Crower Rods with GT35E-415whp/260ftlb of torque @ 17psi. Motor blew after 2 months for variable reasons.
5. Built JDM b16 with JE 10.1:1 Pistons/Crower Rods with GT35E-359whp/247ftlb of torque @ 14psi....

You guys should also post how much you spent going from set up to set up
I guess I've been through a couple turbo set ups/motors/cars.
1. Revhard kit on stock LS motor w/ LS tranny. 274whp/237tq @ 12psi
2. Changed turbo set up to Full-Race manifold w/ Precision turbo, GSR tranny & Skunk2 intake manifold + new tune. 12.89 @ 109mph
3. Spun a bearing in that LS engine and put in a totally stock LS motor.
4. Wrecked car, sold everything, bought a 00 GSR Integra. left the motor stock.
5. Bought a 94 Si hatch w/ NA jdm GSR engine.
6. Currently building up a piece of the urban legend to drop in the hatch.

I think I lost count after $10,000.
Nah, I can honestly say though that after buying things for setups, selling stuff off of old setups, etc, I have a total of $12,000 invested into the car, not including the car. Thats everything from suspension to wheels to motor to seats, etc. Helps having friends in the industry that can help you out on things.

Nah, I can honestly say though that after buying things for setups, selling stuff off of old setups, etc, I have a total of $12,000 invested into the car, not including the car. Thats everything from suspension to wheels to motor to seats, etc. Helps having friends in the industry that can help you out on things.

3rd motor setup. Never had a B-Series. and a ZEX setup on a ZC that worked well.
1st turbo setup - revhard kit. Never installed it.. sold it and got a JDM H22A instead.
