got a problem with my prelude!!!
guys i don't know whats wrong with my car. I've have been having minor bogging problems with the car ever since i've had it but i thought that all preludes have a little bit of bogging.
Recently i had my cam seal resealed due to a oil leak. Now that was fixed, then it started leaking again so i brougth it back to the shop and they fixed it for me for free and told me that the front seals had to be resealed.
Well they chipped off a lot of the paint off my valve cover in the process of fixing the car. So today i decided to just strip off the paint. I got the valve cover off and did everything, put everything back together and changed my oil while i was at it. Started up the car and it was good, but then i noticed my idle was weird, while idling the car kept on going *bhog* then it'll run good again and then do it again and everytime it does it the rpm drops a little.
So then i decided to take it for a drive to see if i warm up the engine if it'll stop. Well i found out that at 2k-3k if i floor it the car would just go *bhog bhog bhog*. Now don't think that it was hesitation cause i tried to see how long it'll do that so this is what i did.
2nd gear: at 2k floored it, it bhogged all the way to 4k and thats when i left off the gas.
It was same through all the gears. I don't have a clue what is wrong with my car...what could i have done to it while taking on and off the valve cover?

i don't know what gen lude you have (is that yours in the pic?) If it is can i assume it's just a h22a4 you're running? (ie: more details req)...
in any case - I have a bogging hesitation thread on the go - that might give you some ideas - you can check it here... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1090957
something you could have done while removing the valve cover is interfere with the PCV valve - is it fully seated?, also I believe there is a torque and tightening order to your valve cover bolts - did you follow that?....
best of luck.

yes, i have a 5th gen prelude..h22a4. I didn't know there was a torque order to the valve cover bolts...any info to this would be very helpful! And yes it is properly seated since there isn't any oil leaking out. Could overtightening the valve cover bolts cause it?

yea sorry maybe I was wrong - there is a torque (7ft lbs) but I think the order was more in reference to the entire head... not the cover.
The only thing that would cause a problem like that while working in that area would be a loose spark plug wire or something along those lines......... and oh yeah..... squirrel ****.
Good Luck.

so with a loose spark plug wire that means probably not all 4 cylinders are firing up correct and that could cause bogging?

yes
yes
Well i did a compression check on my car today...all cylinders were in the 190-200 range.
And the funny thing is that after i put all the fuses back together the bogging was fixed! The fuses i pulled were the ecu and fuel pump so i guess resetting my ecu fixed it?
