2001 Prelude Alarm
Hi guys-
I just purhcased a 5th gen prelude and am looking to upgrade my factory keyless entry to an alarm. I know this was an option on the canadian preludes but was not available in the US. I figure this should be a plug and play type of deal. I've looked at several aftermarket alarm systems but I'd rather keep a honda key fob and not go to any unnecessary trouble. Has anyone put a alarm on their 5th gen prelude from a canadian model? If so, where did you get it and how tough was the install? thanks

</TD></TR></TABLE>I just removed an OEM Honda alarm from a 5th gen lude a weak ago, and yes it is plug and play, but it took me almost an hour to remove it, what a bulky lump of **** it was, take my advice, do what my customer did relpaced it with a Compustar entry leval alarm $99 CAN. $150 install with doorlocks and securpack, [parklight flash and starter cut] hoodpin and trunk trigger, much better alarm and less then 1/3 of what Honda wanted for a new brain and 2 remotes and 1/2 what the wrecker wanted for the whole thing, brain, harness and 1 remote

I may stop by a salvage yard</TD></TR></TABLE>Don't know, but was up here, but it was done as an afterthought, as there was no "alarm" plugin diff. OEM plugs in the car were unplugged and the alarms harness was "T" ed into them, [ the alarm harness had a male and female plug that matched the cars OEM plug] so the alarm would work on any Honda/Acura that used the same OEM harness and plugs
