You could use any B series trannys. IF you have a b16 than stay with the B16A tranny.

i second that... if you can find a XSi or an RSi tranny it be better

XSi preferrable. it has close ratio's just like an R tranny but in cable form.

y1 tranny..... longer gearing, optional LSD (came from the SIR)
j1/s1 tranny.... short gearing, no option for an LSD (XSi/SiR)
YS1 tranny..... same gear ratio as the USDM ITR, LSD

It also depends what your plans are...B18 (A1) trannies are much better if you are gonna go with forcxed induction, and allow much better highway RPMs..... B16a trannies (all above) are much better for off the line acceleration and 0-60 type stuff.....

I have the S1 tranny in my swap and a friend has a Y1, I shift sooner then he does but I am also shifting right past him, I have a civic hatch b16a swap and he has a crx b16a swap. If you are looking to go turbo the Y1 with the longer gear ratio's would be better, If you will stay all motor the S1 might be better and the YS1, from what I hear, is a night and day difference with launch but still has the short gears like an ITR gears.

well i really dont think i am goin to go forced induction any time soon. it is real expensive and i dont have the cash to dump into it right now. i think that i can change trannys later when i do decide to go forced induction but it wont be for at least a year or more. maybe never. i have another project that will be taking alot of my time once i get my crx back to a good driveablr form.
