Need opinion on exhaust dilemma (sp?)
hey guys, just picked up the T1R header, b-pipe and axleback + the guy also thru in the testpipe (got it for $980 CDN). the question i have is wut to do about the testpipe/cat issue... the route i would love to take would be hondata but seeing as my funds are limited i think my two choices are:
1 - high flow cat
2 - O2 simulator
now i live in vancouver bc and i find myself in richmond alot (ricer land) and the RCMP love to hate and give out vehicle inspection orders so I'd like to retain a cat of some sort but not necessary...
the only thing that makes me doubt the high flow cat route is that i heard they only last like 6 months cuz the honeycomb blows out or sumthing along those lines... is this true? if not what brand would u R-heads recommend? (specs on length of cat needed would be nice too) are there any options that i'm not thinking of rite now? thnx a lot for the help

Richmond, eh? I hope I don't get pulled over. The cop would have a field day. Option 1: get an OBD1 ecu; eliminate the secondary O2 sensor. Option 2: get a high flow cat(I run a Vibrant and it has lasted me about seven months with no problems what so ever*knocks on wood* and it only cost me about $100CAD) Option 3: Hondata; I just had to suggest it because it's the best route you could go.
Personally, I would get a high flow cat(Vibrant, Carsound, etc.) and by the time it wears out, if at all, you'll be able to get Hondata or a chipped OBD1 ecu. Just my $0.02.
<----who will maybe see you around.
