Will a 90-91 clutch fit on my 89 crx?
I am in need for a new clutch for my 89 crx. I was looking on ebay and they only had clutches for 90-91 or 88 and lower crx. (besides the stock ones for the 89). I'm looking to get about a stage 3 clutch for my d15. Will the 90-91 clutches fit?
Thanks

You will need the flywheel from a 90-00 civic sohc.
Someone correct me if im wrong but the 89-00 tranny has the same spline count but uses a smaller clutch disk, therefore you needing to swap to a 90-00 flywheel to bolt the clutch to.
From crxsi.com,
» 88 has a 21 spline input shaft, the 89-91's have a 20 spline shaft.
» 90-91 clutch is 212mm, the 89 is 200mm and the 88 has either a 200 or 190mm.

One last thing. Can someone positively confirm that a 90-91 clutch/flywheel will fit in my 89 crx even though the 90-91 is 12mm bigger? I really want to be sure about this.

yes the flywheel will bolt up . Its the clutch disk that is 212mm in size. The flwheel will bolt onto your motor and you will just need the right clutch disk for your year tranny.
The clutch disc will fit, it has the same spline count 89 90 91 etc. You will need to get a 90 up flywheel because the clutch disc is bigger than the 89 flywheel. And as far as a stage 3 clutch goes with your d15 i dont know what your running but stage three may be pretty harsh. I have an Exedy stage one and act streetlight flywheel and it grips really well. With such a light car and only a d15 i think stage one or maybe stage two would be enough.
