Hi guys, I just bought a 95 GSR and the first thing I want to do to it is switch to synthetic. What synthetic oil is recommended in the owners manual? (sorry car didn't come with one) The car has 95k on it and is at high altitude 5800ft.. (colorado). It's gets to be really cold down here in colorado. I'm not a pro at this so work with me. How much oil will I need to buy? I will be changing the filter also.

 

Can someone please answer me.... i'm waiting to go to the store as we speak to buy oil...

 

You'll need to buy 5 quarts. And no don't put all 5 in your car. As for what oil to buy. Thats really up to you. I like valvoline myself.

 

Thanks..... I always used 10-w30 Mobile 1 Synthetic in my Supra..... but i'm not sure if I should use it in the integra.

 

The capacity is approx 4 quarts.

Yep its about 4.2qts.

I run Castrol 5w30 full synthetic...

But I wouldnt switch if I was already running fossil oil. Oil changes are expensive with synthetic man!

 

4.25 qts of either mobil 1 5w30 or castrol sytec 5w30. synthetic last longer than conventional crap oil. so it is actually cheaper because you can go up to 7,000 on it. but i usually go 3,000.

 

You should change your oil every 3-4k anyway...I wouldnt run any oil synthetic or fossil oil for 7k, I dont trust it. Especially if youre turbocharged. 3k oil changes get pretty annoying when it costs $30 every time.

 

the oweners manual says to put 4.2 quarts in but i put just under 4 and half in and its still fine its not over full.
