canadian civic and USDM b18b swap
Hi all, so here's my problem. I recently dropped a 98 b18b LS into my 97 canadian civic cx hatch. I followed all the necessary steps like extending wires for sensors and doing the iacv fix on the ecu plugs. I'm using a 98 integra ecu too by the way.
The problem is, the car starts and idles a tad rough, but as soon as the rpm reaches 3000 the engine seems to flood and boog out. I took out the entire haness and tripple checked it and everything is in order
. Has anyone ever encountered this problem?
Potential problems could be not having the secondary O2 plugged in, bad cap and rotor and the lack of the electrical load detector (which canadian cars did not come with)
I'm throwing two CEL codes one being a code 20 which is for the ELD and the second caode is 91 which is the fuel tank preassure senxour which canadian cars also didn't come with. And I don't think these codes would effect the performance.
Can anyone help me with this problem PLEASE?
I'll try to post pics tomarrow TIA

I am in the exact opposite situation is you. I have a 97 usdm civic hatch with a 98 canadian b18b motor. I also threw code 91 when I had the obd2 ecu. I know exactly what you are talking about with the eld. My alternator only came with 3 wires and the wiring harness in the civic had 4. I just eliminated the one wire and everthing was good. Only problem is my canadian ecu did not look for the eld, where yours is looking for it but its not there. You might also want to see if the map and tps sensors are switched. They are identical and easy to switch.
