Stock springs

my 97 hx sits like it has a after market suspension set up and looks like it has been lowered about 1 inch, i was told that my stock springs might be shot is there any way i can check this my self or would i have to go to a shop?

Your bumpstops might be cut. When I first lowered my car a while back, the directions said to cut the bumpstop. A year later I put my stock springs on with the cut stops, and the car looked slightly lowered.
Then the shocks went out and the car looked even lower. hope that helps.
