well i am swapping in a d16z6, and on my last crx the guy had a d15 vtec wired w/ a rpm switch. I would like to go this route again. anyone ever do this or have a wiring diagram of how to?? thanx
My advice to you is spend the extra money and buy a obd-0 b16 ecu, so vtec engages at the point its supposed to when its supposed to. vtec is a little more complicated then imagined it kicks in at a certain oil preasure for a point. but who am i kidding ive ran vtec on a switch before also
but its alot more fun imo to be able to cruise around and not have to worry about flippin the switch and just having it kick on on its own.

what i am talking about kicks in on its own, it is a rpm switch w/ replacable chips for different rpm activations. so i plug in a 4600 rpm chip vtec automatically kicks in at 4600. but thanx for the quick reply.
whats the name of the device that you purchased? you should just have to run the vtec wires from the solenoid into there and then a wire from the green wire in the distributor to trigger the activation point like a tach, not sure if this helped you out btw im a little drunk so im doing the best i can.

Why not just do it the right way. OBD1 Conversion harness for under $100 then just use an OBD1 Dizzy + O2 sensor and run a P28 Your car will run way better and perform better as well.
You just need to send 12 volts to the vtec noid.. You can get a rpm switch from summit racing.. Get either a msd one or summits own brand of one.. If you get summits brand you need to set it at 1/2 the rpms you want it to engauge at since its meant for v8's..
