shift linkage question

tranny questions

is the shift linkage from a y7 the same thing as from a y8? If not, what's the difference? Are they interchangable? Also, whats the difference between the y8 and the z6 transmissions? Thanks

y7 and y8 shift linkages are the same thing.

so if i have a y8 tranny, it will just bolt right up on a d16y7?

Direct bolt on....only thing is ....if your looking for shorter gears...stick with the y8. But if its just for a daily driver you might not care and just want to get it fixed.
