Default Noob question about headlamp bulbs

New to the car thing appreciate the help.

I want the bright bluish lights for my car. I've heard them referred to as lots of different things and am now officially lost. I've heard plasma, xenon, HID , ultra violet and all kinds of other crap and just don't get it, also whats H1, H3, H4, H7, 9004, 9006, 9007 all about? I've seen HID bulbs for like 600 bucks what the crap is that? whats so much better about them?

Those arent HID bulbs theyre HID systems. HIDs are expensive. Single bulbs are only xenon gas FILLED. HID systems have ballasts and other parts, and those are the models found on luxury cars. The bulbs only are just HID 'look'.

If you want exactly like OEM, get projectors and a real HID kit and retrofit them in your car. If you want to fake the funk, just buy some cheap blue tinted glass bulbs.

HID High Intensity Discharge
they use liquid mercury that vaporizes and gives off light thats why you need a ballast and a transformer to step up the voltage. if you are looking for a good quality bulb there is only one i recomend, Raybrig.
