which flywheel to get?
I heard bad things about aluminum, but I am not too sure how true it is. I have heard that it can warp. anyway, I am looking for something prob 9-12lbs I still have to drive my car on the streets what would you guys suggest? The clutchmaster flywheel is on groupbuycenter.com for 280 shipped, but I dont know how bad/good aluminum is.
Aluminum will warp if u abuse it enough. If 12lbs is what ur looking for then why not just lighten and balance the factory flywheel to 12lbs? Any lighter than that and I'd recommend the Toda Chromoly flywheel.
I've been abusing my Aluminum Unorthodox racing flywheel for a while now... it's about the only thing that hasn't broken yet.
For those who don't know me, ask around about how I drive my car.

where can I get the Toda flywheel from, and how much $ is it?? they dont list it on their webpage. I didn't think toda made anything for ludes.

I hear lightened stock flywheels *can* shatter. That certainly seems feasible since much of the flywheel's material is removed. If that's the case, you'd definitely want an aluminum (or whatever) aftermarket one.
I actually have a lightened stock flywheel on my old motor and will be temporarily putting it on my new one until I can afford a new flywheel/clutch/Quaife.

Yeah, sure. A few years from now when I can keep it on course and get my NASA license, and then get whooped by H1 B20 VTEC ITR/Civic hybrids.
How about you?
