Default EG H22 CAI which one???

Ok i have searched for like an hour and nobody is clear on what can be used. Some say 97-01 ITR some say 99-00 Si some say 92-01 prelude will fit. come on people!

I want a 3'' CAI that goes through the hole, not beside the frame rail. I have a 92-96 cai and it didnt fit, so currently im using my stock D serries EG for a short ram, and i swear that thing is only 2''

So can sombody please end this confusion for me, i know im loosing HP and its pissing me off!

Thanks in advance!!!

None of them go through that hole, they go beside the frame rail infront of the tranny. That hole is for the stock intake to breath through. Im using a a GSR CAI.

I think type r has bigger piping, idk, but the gsr one seems great.

Go with the 3" itr cai , but it will go under the frame and not the hole. I've been running one for the last year with no probs. I'm also selling mine in "red" since I'm going turbo I have no need for it....................I've tried both short ram and cai and the cai has alot more top end.

I had a 92-96 Preldue CAI, it was generic, but it fit directly into the hole.

I have an ek.

My friend has a 92-96 Prelude AEM CAI in his eg that fits through his hole.

Is the 92-96 CAI 3 inch or 2.5?

I don't know, pretty sure it's 3" but I would assume that AEM only makes it in one diameter.

AEM sells an H22A EG Civic specific CAI. I have their first one (still in the box for almost 6 months now) when we took our car over to them for some prototype fitment testing before they gave the final 'ok' on the project. It's a 3" CAI and the piping runs the same way as the ITR CAI but is made to fit perfectly and bolt into place.

If I ever get around to it, I'll throw it onto the car and take some pics of it..... otherwise, if somebody wants it PM me.

I will have a nice red one for sale shortly if anyone is interested. As well as a not in too shabby shape Greddy header modded to fit a 98 engine..

I saw that on inlinefour last night. so does it go next to the frame rail or through the hole?

ok one of you say that it runs by the frame rail and the other says through the hole. Is it really this hard to find the right intake???

OK. I took a look around apparently the 97-01 Lude and the 99-00 Civic SI(Both are 3 inch I believe) run throught he hole but apparently the Lude might be a tight fit and require u widening the hole. I dont think it really matter if it runs through the whole or by the frame rail seeing as AEM designed the Civic H22 hybrid intake to run along the frame rail.

As you can see my AEM CAI goes in the hole. 92-96 prelude 3 inch. The whole piping is 3 inches. The rubber seal at the throttle body(TB) goes from 3 inches than tapers down into a smaller diameter onto the TB.
