Default Timing Question....How do you align camgears too crankshaft?

Im having trouble aligning my camgears to TDC....I know the camgears need to be faced up....but does it matter if they're both not completly pointing straight straight up, but the marks on the side align?? what should I go by?? because both the intake and exhaust cams are kinda slightly turned to the left...though the marks in the middle are exactly aligned.. Anyone done this before help me out please??

ARE YOU WORKING ON A SINGLE CAM OR TWIN CAM.IF ITS A SINBLE CAM SET THE UP MARK AT 12 O CLOCK POSITION .THE BACK OF THE CAM HAS A MARK ON EACH SIDE MAKE SURE THEY ARE PARALLEL TO THE CYLINDER HEAD. SET THE CRANK TO MATCH THE MARK ON T BLOCK.. IF ITS A TWIN CAM , SET ENGINE TO TDC MAKE SURE VALVES ON CYLINDER #1 ARE FREE .CHECK BY MOVING THEM UP AND DOWN WITH YOUR FINGER. ALIGN UP MARK TO 12 O CLOCK ON EACH CAM . ALIGN THE MARK TO EACH CAM. HAVE FRIEND WITH SOME EXPERIENCE TO HELP YOU IF NOT PAY SOMEONE ,POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO ENGINE IF NOT DONE RIGHT

make sure you are at tdc and you have pins stuck through the holes in the cam to align it and you should be fine
