Default What wastegate are you guys using?

I have been reading up on wastegates and what sizes are good for the hp you want to make. I am sure I have probably asked quite a few people on here but I figured I would get a better feel for what size I would realistically need by asking all of you guys with real world experience.I personally would need a gate that would work well with boost ranging from 10 to 19 psi and producing 350 to 500 hp?Any help is greatly appreciated

Many on here use the Tial wastegates. They are very reiable and hold boost levels very well. I have yet to hear one bad thing on Tial products.

I run a Tial and love it.

its actually really gonna depend on what size turbo your using and how much boost you plan to use. But yes, Tial is highly reccomended.

If you plan on using race gas make sure to get the special Tial one designed for it otherwise the valve could stick shut and BOOM. I forget the name of it though

I thought they only made the standard gates and their hp series and I thought the only difference between the two were the spring rates? But I am a noob so I am probably wrong

actually your wrong. When you use race gas (leaded) the valve on the wastegates do have a tendency to start sticking. As for tial making a different valve, i thought they did but am not 100% sure.

Well you might be right but I went to tialsport.com and it didnt have anything listed as far as differences in how they make the wastegates .The hp and the standard are basically the same as far as construction.Someone correct me if I am wrong?

Actually, the bigger the turbo, the less the necessity for a big wastegate on the same setup. A small turbo on high boost has the greatest potential to spike, hence the necessity for a good wastegate. Of course wg selection should also be dependant upon exhaust volume too, so it's kind of a hard thing to determine. Im no honda expert, but i'd say a Tial 35 would work and a 38 would definatly be adequate for both Siblues and Accordking. Look at all the cars that have gotten away with 31mm deltagates all these years.
