Nope, your welder will work with sheet metal and thin steel. If you would like to weld stainless or aluminum you need a MIG welder with gas. If your on a budget, check out HarborFreight.com they have a gas/no gas Chicago Electric MIG welder for $175 (marked down from $350).

But understand what your buying when its from Harbor Freight..

You need pure argon as a sheilding gas to weld aluminum.. No flux core for that type of stuff.. And add about $100 to the sale price for an aluminum upgrade kit.. IE liner and wire, tips etc..

i'm pretty sure if you have the gas, and you buy the aluminum wire you could do it. if you want something small done, consider going to a local high school that has a welding shop and ask the teacher if he has any advanced students who could take on this project for you. I'm from washington and i know alot of times when someone who would come in and me or a few other students would end up having to do a project for someone(be prepared to pay them a few bucks though) Tig welding is a much better process when it comes to welding aluminum. Also if you have no experience with welding aluminum with a wire machine it's alot different than welding steel. burns way different and very easy to burn holes.
