Default Transmission help please.

My right side axle keeps popping out. I replaced the clip that holds it in twice and replaced the entire axles once, and its still doing it, so I either need to rebuild this one (again, blew the spider gears before), or replace it. I’m thinking of getting a B18C5 tranny since it comes with an LSD from the factory, and has the gear ratios I want/need. I, however, can’t source one. I’m obviously not going to find one at the junk yard, so does anyone know where I could get a hold of one. Do you have a better suggestion for that matter?

here is what you do:

man up, disassemble your tranny, buy a obx LSD, (~$300... heard nothing but good things) , get the correct shims, and put it all back together.

and there you have a ITR tranny with a stronger LSD, for about $360.

if it sounds intimidating, ask me and ill help.

would that solve the problem of my axle popping out of joint? its a PITA, since every time it comes out I have to replace the fluid, since it leaks all over the ******* place.

BTW where are you located?

located on the completely opposite coast.

when you look at your diff. can you see any physical damage or anything that looks out of place?

pop the axles out, get a light and take some pictures.

Check to see if the inner c.v. boot is compressed. There needs to be some air in the boot. If the boot is compressed, it "sucks" the joint out of the transmission under load.
