Default crx console in hatch

I have an 89 std hatch. It came with the basic radio bezel and then there was just a rubber boot around the shifter. I took the radio bezel and removed the bottom part where the ash tray and cig lighter go and matched a crx middle console up to it.

Its the one that comes down around the shifter. It lined up suprisingly nice. I was wondering if anyone else has done it and if they have pics of it. I would get some pics but my digi cam is down. If there is anyone out there that has done this what did you do with the gap where the ash tray should be, did you put the crx parts in it or what? Im thinking of puting a stainless steel plate in and mounting an safc into it.

thanks in advance for any info!

the crx center console is angled about about 20 degrees towards the driver.

im curious how you got it to "line up" since its tilted like that, or if you just have an integra console and didnt realize it.

get some pics!

btw, my brother has an 89 std hatch and did a crx dash swap, im sure hell chime in on this one.

The crx console slanted all the way at the top but once you get about half way down it, the console becomes pretty much straight. That also happens to be where the bottom of the radio bezel was cut off. It lines up a lot like the 94-01 teg console but doesnt have the arm rest and cup holders. This is like the poor mans integra console

haha, so you chopped the top off the crx one, and made it like the integra one.

thats pretty inventive.

Yea, I have the whole 91 CRX Si dash installed in my 88 STD. But hey, if the cut one looks good more power to you, I just hate chopping things up

I dig my CRX dash though... it was a super easy install. I did it by myself, in the rain, in 1 hour.

Yeah same here. It was super easy and took only 3 hours to get everything in. Best $30 I ever spent at the junkyard.

I have a picture of the console bolted up to the civic dash. Actually, that's the reason I got the whole dash cause it just didn't work right in my opinion. And if you got a pic of it on your dash, I would be most interested in seeing it.

why did you link me to that thread? it has nothing to do with the topic other than he has a dash, and a crx console. all i learned was to use turtle wax on the dash to make it shine so i get blinded in the sun.

I needed a new console also, but did not want to buy used parts. This is a good place if your looking to get new.
