Hey people. If anyone lives around california and you know about J Tech, don't buy **** from them. The "owner," although he's not, is a ******* dick head. I bought a used tranny from them for my 90 hatch si, and me thinking that I can trust them took there word and got a tranny. Moe the "owner" told me it would fit my hatch si. What I didn't know is that the spline was different and I would have to get a fly wheel, pressure plate, and clutch disk in order to use this transmission properly. Now heres the thing I found out about the tranny. The tranny was a ******* tranny out of an 88 CRX, it wasn't even off a ******* civic. And since it was an 88 it had a 21 spline shaft and not a 20. And that totally fucked me over. And he says that I was suppose to know. I asked him for a 90 si tranny and he said that the one I got would work. MY ******* ***! So they said that there was nothing I could do because it was my fault for not know. Hah, I thought it was for a civic! I didn't say crx dipshit. Anyways, I just bought the damn clutch disk for a 21 spline and slapped the whole **** together cuz I needed to get to work and what not. Now, okai i bought the wrong tranny and needed to buy a clutch disk and I did; he said that the tranny works good. So when I slapped the son of a bitch on (don't worry I did it correctly), the ******* **** didn't even work good and made a loud ******* noise (like a clicking noise, the faster i went the faster it was and louder it was). So in 3 days it crapped out on me. So yea, tomorrow they're going to replace it and hopefully this one works. Well to make a long story short, I bought a tranny i thought would fit but didn't, and ended up having no car for about 3-4 weeks. So the moral of the story is DON'T ******* BUY FROM J TECH. They're located in Paramount, California. And plus, they prices are rediculus.... so yea, **** YOU J TECH and **** YOU MOE! t('.'t)

yeah. but crx/civic trannies are interchangible, so long as theyre the same year/trim. the cars are almost identical under the hood

This isn't exactly the right way to solve a problem, they just might see this thread and say "**** that guy."

 

if you asked for a tranny for your car and "moe" said any tranny will work
then it's their fault, because if they run a biz it's their job to sell you the right parts and give you knowlage you need.Now if they told you the tranny differ and you said yea "i'll make it ift" then it's on you.I got fucked over from SIGNAL AUTO
and they charged me 150$ for a shitty weld job that did not even line up right
and they said they were going to halft to charge me extra to do it over again...
I went ape ****....i wanted to choke every one who worked there but 150$ is not worth going to jail, SO i brought up B,B,B. and guess what? they took care of it.
I'm the kind of person that if i get ripped off you better belive i get back some how. no matter what it takes.I came very close to keying the siganl drift car but the problem was taken care of. hopefull you figure somthing out. good luck.

well, "you" told him that it would work in his 90 civic...obviously it didnt fit the first time because of the spline count...the customer gave "you" the year which is very important because of 88s being differnet which "you" gave him...not only that, "you" sold him a **** tranny as well...now "you" have to find him another 88 since he bought a clutch/flywheel setup for it and no point in spending more money to buy 89, 90-91 stuff...

by "you" i mean your compnay J-Tech, i dont mean you personally if you are just a worker there that didnt sell it to him...

that happened to me also. i wound up paying for another tranny after the first one locked up. so now i have a 89+ in the car and a 88 si chillin in storage. atleast i have a spare now...

 

coming from someone that deals with customer service and sales for a living, j tech is in the wrong and the whole "come down and be a man about it" is stupid. They have no sense in how to deal with customer service. He gave you the year and what he needed and you didnt supply it, now if you want to be a man about it, refund his damn money or get the right tranny and try to get a reputible name built up so you can get repeat business. j tech=

lets see before all this posting, moe contacted jasper to come down and get the other tranny. Which is sitting in the bay as we speak. So if thats not good customer service, what is? Its not being a tough guy, its the example of talking behind a computer screen bad mouthing the shop, instead of coming down here and sorting out the situation. Got the customer's receipt and will be posting it up soon.

 

now tell me how moe is wrong. This is the authentic customer receipt that moe handed me this morning. Now before the posting began it was positive transaction, and he said that he was down w/o a car for 3-4 weeks, it was purchased on the 12/1. **notice it says will exchange if no good per MOE** depending on the availability. ANd guess what, we have the other tranny that arrived on wednesday the 22nd. NOw who is wrong, we had no intentions bad mouthing but unnecessary talks like this is quite upsettin. But you all have a Merry Christmas.

thats a funny story almost like the same thing happen to me, at some jacksonville shop, and the owner name was moe 2, i bought a 1stgen b16 from there ended up waiting 2years of bullshit story from them, well 1,600 later they ended up selling me a ****** zc with a "special" zc tranny which comes out doesnt even fit!! now sinced i was ripped off about 1,000 they wont give me the 88 clutch kit i need to ****** who scam

Damn that sucks. Just learn from your mistakes. Dont ever go to a shop without knowing any info. Most shops will try to dick you.
