Broken D16 Engine Mount
So im driving my car home from the shop yesterday(manifold issues) and in between shifting from first to second under full throttle my engine jumps up into my hood and dents it! I pulled over and found out that i boke the driver side upper mount. I allready ordered the prothane mount inserts but i dont know if that would fix my problem. The only part of the old mount that is broke is the rubber part. Am i okay with the mounts??
lol no way, the poly inserts are meant for extra support (stiffness) not to fix broken motor mount's, go by the new mount for 55 bucks and then put the inserts. trust me it's , just better that why,( don't half *** it on your own car)
the moutn inserts are ONLY for the torqu mounts, meaning the rear mount, the a/c brakcet mount, and the front tranny mount.
nd yes you can use them to fix broken mounts too.
if the mount you broke was the one on the timing belt end of the engine you will need a new one or you will need to fill ti with caulk, like window weld.

that's some half *** ****, the inserts are just what they are inserts, (fact), they are not a complete mount, if you want to got half *** racing motorsports then go ahead and knock your self out, but your not getting the full use, of the stiffness, if you don't believe me then call energy susp. your self or who ever you got them from, and they'll tell you the same ****. half ***-er.

Let me quote energy suspension then:

• Available for many popular sporty and performance front wheel drive vehicles.
• A real must to use for sport compact competition and performance uses.
• Helps reduce wheel hop and traction loss.
• Prevents damage to other vehicle components.
• Improves and even restores broken motor mounts.
• Made of HYPER-FLEX™ performance polyurethane.
• Resistant to under vehicle fluids: oils, coolants, road contaminants, etc.
so next time you open your whole assed mouth you should know your products applications as described by the manufacturer.

I orderd the inserts before i broke the mount and i just wanted to know if they would still work temperarly since my one mount is now broken. I think im going to buy the pro-fab mount anyway -better safe than sorry

If it was the upper driver mount, You should just replace it. My 97 dx upper mount broke also, got a new factory mount along with both torque mounts to replace my broken ones. Put in ES poly bushing as well.
