Default 01itr518 et. all: Here's a comparo to my spec b plot... weird!

Well I must admit that congratulations are in order!

I was a bit skeptical at first when you posted about your 190whp dyno session, but after seeing your plots I am amazed!

I did some quick comparo's with my stock plots and in various states of tune up till present and here's what I came up with:

My stock itr:

(rpm) (whp) (tq)
2000 38 95
3000 63 110
4000 78 105
5000 90 98
6000 120 105
7000 150 115
8000 160 110
8500 150 90

My toda b setup with vafc, aemcai, toda header, test pipe, and stock catback in it's current state of tune:

(rpm) (whp) (tq)
3000 65 115
4000 90 119
5000 115 117
6000 143 125
7000 165 123
8000 182 117
8500 185 115

01itr518's itr with stock cams and all the mods he listed:

(rpm) (whp) (tq)
3000 65 115
4000 85 115
5000 110 115
6000 155 130
7000 180 130
8000 190 125
8500 185 110

.....WOW!

Now I understand why Jeff (importreview) always says itr cams are the best!

I realize that my self-tuned setup doesn't have the power steering removed or the 2.5" exhaust that Eric here has, but damn!

Now I realize that we aren't on the exact same dyno... But I am wondering how much of a difference the power steering makes. Basically I realize that I need to do some more tuning to get some gains from 6k+... Especially since that stock catback must be killing my top end...

Eric! I bet your car feels like it has a small turbo from 5k-7k!

Wow. All that and still using the stock exhaust? I recommend taking off the exhaust and re-dyno your car. Usually people gain 2-3whp from taking off the P/S.

Black R: No offense, but this comparison is pretty useless. Different dynos, differetn days, etc.

Just didn't want everyone to get on a anti-aftermarket cams kick... Some people wont read those last few lines of your post

Power steering gave a 3whp and 2wftlbs on my b18c1, IIRC Kenji gained ~6whp by removing PS. I wont post the graph of my car unless requested, but the power gain was across the board.

Thanks Black R for the comparisons...looks like your car has some wicked low end power. Again, I think I was just lucky and blessed with a strong car out of the box.

As far as power steering goes, I certainly could feel it on the but dyno. For what it's worth, I would bet I gained 4whp across the board from simly removing the belt. Definitely worth giving it a try, not to mention my biceps went from 13" to 18.5"...look out Arnold!!!

I'm heading over to the dragstrip at California Speedway in Fontana this coming Saturday, so I'll let you all know what kind of E.T.s 190 whp translates to.

I am very interested in what kinds of times you'll be putting down!

Also, I don't think I have too much over you on the low end... maybe ~5whp in some areas, but the torque is only a little ahead... I need to tune some more and get an exhaust...
