Kyb AGX shocks adjusting question

i got these with the car and i dont know how im supposed to adjust them...ive searched and couldnt find anything really...so yeah...
what kind of settings should i leave it on?
for the streets or for the tracks....?
and what settings do you guys leave it on?
its with tien springs by the way....thanks

Start out with 1/2 stiff on each. Then if you actually take it to a track, you might try stiffening the rear to get it to oversteer a bit and see how that helps.

Start out with 1/2 stiff on each. Then if you actually take it to a track, you might try stiffening the rear to get it to oversteer a bit and see how that helps.
Well you can set it to any setting that you want. I have them on my car but it depends how stiff or soft you want them for the street or strip. The fronts should adjust from the top of the shock under the hood. It should range from 1-4 1 being softest and 4 being stiffest. Then for the rears it adjust more towards the base of the shock with a ****. It should range from 1-8 again 1 being the softest and 8 being the stiffest. At the track I would recommend 1 in the front and 8 in the back its suppose to help prevent wheel hop and rear end squating on the launch.But for the street it is really up to what you like riding on. what settings do you guys have it on for the streets??? just for a good ride...and mine adjust from the top in the back also..i havent checke if theres a **** at the bottom
Since I dont race on the streets I dont need them to be stiff so I usually just leave them on one all the way around but your comfortable ride is different from everyone elses and what spring you are using makes a difference also. But just test out what fells the most comfortable for you.

yeah...it was on 2 in the front and 1 in the back....i dont like the ride at all..i just want to have a pretty smoothe ride for the streets....i was thinking of getting new springs...but thanks for the help
What type of teins do you have the H-Type or the S-Type cause I was looking into getting some S-Type springs and putting them on my car. My car rides way too bouncy and I wanted something smoother.

i recommend h&r race with the agx's. i have them on my civic, and when set at 1 in the front and 3 in the rear the ride is so perfect.
as for your current situation, try 2 in the front and 2 or 3 in the rear. thats how my ej1 was setup and if i had better springs it woulda been sweet

blackeg how low does ur car sit on the H&R springs. I pretty much want to be as low as I can on the springs without sacrificing ride comfort and without cutting the springs. I like how low my car sits on the coilovers I have on my em1 right now but I want a smoother ride. How much do the H&R springs run?
i bought the agx's for my 89 civic si but im not quite sure what coilovers to go with. im trying to achieve the "stiff as hell feel" any one have suggestions, pics of their ef with agx's
i have agx+ground control and i love it.
I run 2 in front and 1 in back on the streets and althought you can tell they are 'sport' suspension, the ride is pretty nice.
I got the kind that is 4way all around. I LOVE THEM AGX ALL THE WAY
Oh yeah, also, agx suck for real low-rides, if you plan to go lower than 1.5" get the ground control upper mounts, they extend shock travel and let u go lower. Or you can make them urself, but if uve got the money just buy em. Idid and i loveem

Try 2 in the front and 4 in the back for street driving, if you want it slightly firmer, go 3 front and 5 in the back, that's what my AGX's are set at and the car handles great.

Doesn't that give you oversteer in slippery conditions? I'm running 1/2 stiff on my fronts, 3/4 stiff on the rears with a comptech swaybar. I'm thinking of putting the sway on soft (it's medium now) and setting the shocks all to 1 to avoid any adverse handling in the winter.

i would not say that they suck for low rides. im lowered about 2.25 and they ride very well. however, they are not warrantied for lower than 1.5"

No not at all, softening up the rear shocks helps keep the rear end planted a little better, similar to dropping the rear tire psi a couple pounds. I don't drive my car in anything slipperier than rain (it's stored in the winter) and my settings haven't caused me any handling problems in respect to oversteer. Some fwd's have problems swapping ends in slippery weather when braking but all Canadian EM1's like mine come equipped with ABS standard so i never have any troubles that way either.

Thanks so much for your response; I always trust your replies. I wish the above was the case for my car. I drive my tack ***** on a daily basis. This is the first winter that I've had a swaybar and an adjustable suspension. My settings that I'm running with now (that I stated above) give me a neutral to oversteer handling when I'm on the track.
I've been running with a lower PSI in the rear, but I'm worried about the 'snap-on' oversteer that my setup has been prone to. I'm thinking that I'll leave the front at 1/2 stiff, and soften the rear to the 1/8 setting. I'm thinking that that, in combination with the lower PSI in the rear, will help the car from doing anything that I wouldn't want it to this winter.
