Default Oil Light stays on for about 2 seconds

When I start the car up cold, the oil light stays on for about 1-2 seconds after the initial crank. I heard somewhere before that it could be the oil filter. I am not sure what kind the car has on right now, since it's flipping cold outside... but wanted to get some peoples thoughts.

But the oil light turns off right? Then your fine. If it stays on then you have a problem.

Check your oil level and see where its at, if its good then your good.

It will stay on until the oil pressure builds up. When it's "flippping cold outside" it may just take a second longer than it does in the summer. That's normal bro.

Yes it turns off after like I said, maybe 1 second after the car has started.

Oil level is closer to the higher dot, so that should be ok. VTEC engages fine, car still pulls great.

It's been pretty chilly, since I've gotten the car the weather has been below 40*. Right now it's 9* outside.

Thanks guys, just wanted to make sure that this may not be leading to a problem... better safe than sorry, glad to see the better of Honda-Tech posted here.

This is correct. It's been taking a bit longer to go off on my car as well because of the cold weather.

Mine did that, but that was only because the feed line for the turbo tee'd off the oil pressure switch...

Mine is set up like that, but it did it even when the pressure sensor was plugged directly into the block.
