actually i do know how i just dont konw how to work on trannies. me and 2 other friends just swapped a b16 in his eg hatch. so ONCE AGAIN stay on topic. where the hell did you even come up with that. the funny thing is you say i dont know how to swap a motor, but at the same time you think L3 means an Si tranny. whose stupid now? ok i dont want to get in the middle of this but all 88 to 91 civic crx trannys are a L3
including HF the only way to realy tell is to put the tranny in fifth gear and turn the input shaft and count the rotation on the cv but if he did send you a dx or hf tranny then id be a little p/o 'd

 

yea i know they are all L3's. but when i confronted him about it he goes its an L3 it has to be an Si. so i go no. He sold me a 91 tranny. it was a 89 tranny according to teh groove. and according to teh stamp he sold me a PL3-A000 Dx tranny. go to thread for most of the story. he makes himself look like an *** by trying to be a smart ***.

yes there is. On the spindle itself there is a groove. When there is 2 grooves it means it is a 90-91 tranny. When there is 1 groove it means its a 89 tranny. when there is no groove it means its a 88 tranny. Now for the 90-91 the only stamps on the case can only be PL3-3000,6000, or 9000. There is on way in hell it can be PL3-A000 that can only mean a DX. Go to the thread stated above and in my sig to learn more about it.
