wats the difference from obd0 and obd1
Honda's and Acura's did not have on board diagnostics (sp) in their cars for 91 and older models. In 1992 the 1st gen ....OBDI came out for improved emmisions. OBDI ecu's are very easy to reprogram making them the most popular for engine swaps and precise tunning. Even guys with OBDII (came out in 96) often go back to obdI for reprograming purposes.
I still don't understand why they called it 'on-board'. Before 92, you could just look at the light to figure out what's wrong. 92-up, don't you have to cross some wires or something? Pre-Obd was less work and was truly 'on-board'. Oh well, Maybe I'll learn when I'm older.
For pre-91 honda and acura cars the trouble codes are read by counting the number of flashes generated by the led located inside the ecu. For the newer 92+ models the trouble codes are read by jumping a connector under the hood(i believe) and then counting how many times the CEL flashes on the dash.

no honda/acura before 92 has obd1. i think what you are thinking about is MPFI. the Si and ex have MPFI but the dx and STD have dpfi but both are obd0.

the reason obd 1 is so powerful is it has the ability to STORE codes. with the older system, once you turn the car off and then back on, if it is an intermittent problem, lets say the code goes away for a while, the LED wont flash. this can be maddening if your trying to lock down a problem that happens only when your doing 60 down the hyway.
also hondata just discontinued all their tuning options for obd0. you can still get zdyne tho, thank god.
