How Hard to swap headlights? AV6
Hi,
Just bought a 2000 Accord coupe V6 and the headlights are foggy. I want to change them out, is this very hard? Does the front bumper have to be removed?
Thanks.

If you're talking about switching out the headlight housings then yes you have to take off the bumper. Getting the bumper off is tricky because at some point after the bolts are off you have to yank it off without breaking anything.
If you're talking about headlights only then no you do'nt have to. They're wired to the battery and you can easily get access to them through the engine bay.

Its not that hard. All you have to do is lift the the front and pull it towards you. If you break stuff taking off your bumper somethings wrong(unless its those damn plastic screws or whatever they are).

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I am replacing the whole headlight housings. So you are saying that after I remove the bolts, there's still some part of the bumper that is snapped in place or held in place somehow? Hope I don't screw it up.

Its kinda like a slide in and secure thing. It slides and secures itself along the front where the H badge is and under the headlight to around the fender. Just lift it up(like how your bumper would if its dropped and you are on a curb), wiggle it, and pull it towards you. If this is your first time it might take al ittle more wiggling.
After the bumper is off there are brackets that are holding the headlights in place. Take those off and PUT them back on after you are done. Those brackets keep you from having gaps under your headlights cuz it holds up the front bumper. The bumper should also slide and secure itself ont eh cutout slits on there.

NO, but for 5th, 6th and 7th gen accord you need to take off the bumper since the headlight's lower mounting bracket is under the bumper.
the headlight housing is the little chrome/black trim that live inside of your headlight unit.
search under my username, i made a post of how to for 98-02 accord before..but you gotta have some hard time searching all 10000+ of my post
