I made a mistake.........
But its the only one this year so far.
I thought it got dark at 5PM for the NASA event in mid-Februray at VIR.
BUT I checked with the Weather web site and its doesn't get dark till 6PM.
SO>>>>>
I will be scheduling and additional 30 minutes per day for the HPDE groups.
As per Chris' memo there will not be four sessions on either day. I will schedule three LONG groups for each HPDE group.
This is in addition to the Honda Challenge Exibition FREE time.
So MORE track time, only three sessions per day (for safety), no additional cost.
This will bring the track time to about the same as the Speedtrial event, but we will do it in three sessions per day.
Grumpy
By the way, in all of 2001, NASA HPDE compiled an excellent safety record. We only sent out the tow truck ONE time all season, and that was only to bring a floor jack out to a competitor so he could replace a wheel because...........
he forgot to tighten the wheel lug nut before he went out. Duh!
We fully expect the HPDE safety record to be the same in 2002.

Hum, NASA keeps getting better and better.... A little more track time for each group is great!
And yes, NASA is the safest around, you can see that at their events..

Right off the top of my head I can think of 5 totalled DE cars at CMP in 2001. None with NASA, over 2 weekends.
Can't argue with the numbers. Could be luck, but probably not.
