Car got hit, need help find shop.
So, a week ago, I posted my story on how my R was rearended by a enormous Dodge Durango. I finally found the time to get some pictures of the aftermath.

The damage looks moderate until you remove the bumper, open the trunk, and look underneath the car. She is hurt internally. I finally got a claim number from the girl's insurance company, so now I need to find a good shop near the Fremont, Hayward, Newark area that does an excellent job. Price is no object to me since I am not paying for it.
I have searched already, but most of the searches were for cheap shops or for shop that were not in close proximity to my area.

I have not heard many great things about Acura. I think someone stated in another thread that there were some paint problems.
You should collect $$$ from the insurance co., find a mint PY rear bumper (which I'm sure will be a challenge), and try to do most of the work yourself. If not, at least try to get that PY bumper so the paint will match.

well he said there was more damage than just the bumper. so i dont think its gonna be that easy. might be some frame damage

Challenging??? that's one of the hardest parts to find, I was willing to pay anything within reason for a oem PY rear bumper... I had the body shop buy a new one and paint it.
My car's rear frame section had twisted about 1/4 inch, besure you find a shop that will check the rails of the car... our POSs bend easy

I think I will just repaint the car, I mean might as well if there will be paint match issues. Hey it is not on my tab, so might as well get the most out of it. Anyone have have good body shop / paint shops around my neck of the woods. I really do not want to drive her too far because she feels damaged.
You should not have any issues with paint matching if you have a proper shop do the work. If you decide to repaint the complete car I can only wish you best of luck. I think it's totally unnecessary because the bumper took a shot.

That shot in the rear costed $2000.00 to fix... the rear rails were off by 1/4 inch. I would think that you just need a new bumper and some paint.
fixing that would cost way too much money if you consider time/labor/materials, not to mention how the **** are the gonna pop that out and then fibertex that bitch all up.. a new bumper cover from acura would cost about 250-275 and then another 150-250 for paint.. so your looking at roughly 500 to fix that.. thats a high quote but you understand what im getting at.. good luck
The trunk is pushed in to a point where the truck brace is a little off. The trunk will also not close right and is pushed in in some areas. I went to get an estomate from EMC Collisions today and they said that it would cost around 4700 to fix. They really got into everything that I overlooked. Only problem is that EMC does a horrible job. My family has had two cars in that shop before and both times there were some fitment and paint problems. Thus that is why I am inquiring of any other body shops.
On a side note, I was rear ended this summer, and seeing all these other PYs getting rear ended has got me wondering...
HOW CAN YOU HIT A BRIGHT YELLOW CAR!?!?!?!?!?!?(I was dead stopped at a read light)
Good luck with the fix man.

Dude, that sucks. Good luck with it. At least the SUV's bumper was low enough to hit your bumper!

Well if EMC does a horrible job how do you trust them to give you a proper estimate?
Not to mention why would you bring a second car there if they did such a **** poor job the first time???
Go and find another body shop and see what they say.

Yeah when I got rearended, my friends and I were wondering the same thing. It is not like yellow blends in the rest of the cars on the road or anything.

There is basically two body shops that I know of around my area, EMC and Auto Body. I have had my R repainted at Auto Body and they were even worst than the work of EMC. The paint was uneven, their were particles in the paint that left bumps in the finish, and I think they ate in my car because their were food stains on my seats. Needless to say, I will never go there again. EMC does a an alright job, but you have to catch them on some of the small things.
The other shops recommended in other threads are in San Francisco or San Jose; both cities where I would not trust to have my ITR in even if I was there to watch over her.

I guarantee you that her ins. co. will not pay to have your entire car repainted over a new bumper. It's not like they're just going to give you a blank check.
Good luck with the repairs though.

There are gashes on the trunk and the rear body panels are pushed in a little so after they are pulled out, they will need to be repainted. Like I said, it does not look that bad until you really start examining. If they do not pay for the repaint, my dad has his lawyers already updated on everything happening thus far. Right as of now, I can care less if they are going to pay for the costs or not. I am just trying to look for some excellent body shops in my area.

Maybe the girl in the Durango saw your car was a Hype-R and started drooling, and by the time she awoke from her state of mind, it was too late to brake.
Anyways, good luck finding a good trustworthy, maximum-security body shop.
