Default 92 accord - engine bogging down at 40mph???

Hi all,

I have a 1992 accord ex with manual transmission and 120k miles. Today driving home, while I was on the 4th gear going about 40mph, I realized when I step on the gas, that the rpm and speedometer wasn't going up and seems like the engine wasn't moving the car at all. Then coming to the stoplight, I kinda floor it and 1st and 2nd gear had no problems. Then at 3rd gear at probably around 40mph again the rpm stopped going higher and stepping on gas kinda like bogging the engine and it was slowing a bit. Nonetheless I was able to drive it home. Does anyone know what can be causing this problem?

Thanks...
