'99 Black Honda Accord (4cyl)....Stalling HELP!!!!!!!!!
Alright here we go. I have a '99 Black Honda Accord EX, automatic, 4cyl, 2door coupe.
I am having a problem, it stalls when I come to a stop occasionally. Normally it just drops rmps then picks back up real fast, as I come to a stop. Today it stalled in the middle of an intersection as I slowed down and almost cause a rather big accident.
Please someone help me as I don't have that much money to spend right now (christmas).
Thanks!
Jason

I believe it has something to do with your ignition system.
Go to a honda-dealer with your VIN # and ask them to check if you your vehicle is part of the ignition recall that is causing engine to stall.

If you have Auto tranny, this is Initial stage of tranny problem.
Follow the steps:
1. Go to your dealer and get the next mileage service. mentioned the problem and ask them to check for ignition related check.
2. Make sure you keep up with the servcie schedule and if in the future, your auto tranny is shot (So to speak), You will get a brand new HONDA Auto Tranny (not re-built, not from outside).
If you n\do not have auto tranny, steps 1 and 2 do not apply.

i had this same problem... it would drop down 300 rpms to 550 to 700 rpm withend 9 seconds... then my tranny died 2 weeks after dat... I hope it was the tranny tho.. i dont need no more problems once i got my car back,

I had/have the same thing happening to my 98 Accord sedan. It woul happen sometimes after starting up after school in the parking lot, and also occasionally when coming to a stop sign and even stop light. Needless to say, I notified my Honda Dealer when the ignition was recalled, but they could not find any problem. Seems when I bring it to them, it doesn't happen. Lately it hasn't been acting up, but I still can't figure it out.
I had a similar problem a while back. I took it to the dealer and a tranny shop and both couldn't track it down. So, I sat down and followed the troubleshooting steps in the haynes manual. I found that one of my tranny solenoid connectors was dirty. I guess I spilled some tranny fluid on it when I was refilling. I cleaned it up and its been working perfectly fine ever since.
