How can i tell if i got a JDM ECU?
Does anyone know how to tell if you got a JDM ECU? I got a Type-R ECU off ebay, but it didn't have any serial numbers on it. So when i asked the person i got it from he said that it was out of his Type R that he crashed and and that the numbers were inside the case. Ok so when i opened it up the numbers were there and they matched a Type R p73. But when i pluged it in and used it i can rev all the way up to 9400 RPM un till rev limiter kicks in. I was told that this is a JDM ECU does anyone know if thats true and how can i check?
AFAIK....it is a JDM ecu if you can't go any faster than 185kph.....
the ECU you got....with a 9400rpm cutoff?! That doesn't sound like any factory ecu out there....
custom program perhaps?

The last three letters/numbers on the sticker on the side of the ECU should not start with the letter 'A'.
My 1997 JDM ITR ECU has the serial/part number: 37820-P73-003
My 1998 USDM ITR ECU has the serial/part number: 37820-P73-A00
