no need for it PERIOD!

4 piston is all that is needed! maybe 6 if you have a huge *** rotor but the friction force is the same! the pad will put the same amount of friction on the rotor. sports car did a write up on this in august(??)

I do not think that this is a matter of more or less force, but one of feel.

I can imagine that these brakes would "talk" to you, you'd be able to keep thet thing one micron from locking up, and ultimately that makes the diference.

Now if this is put in perspective, 6 piston probably delivers 98% of feel that these ones do, but we all know that teams pay 1 million extra for 0.0001 % difference, so I would not be surprised that at certain level these are worth the expense...
