You need audio, but mind the volume - the gear whine, especially on the straights, is painfully high-pitched. What causes that? Never heard anything like it...

Yeah, I've heard straight-cut before, but it's the pitch that throws me.
And it seems like the pitch depends on speed, not gear. But it's been a while since I've seen some good WRC video, so I can't remember what typical sequential + straight-cut sounds like.

This particular video has been posted at least 3 or 4 times here. I think that somebody actually talked to the driver at one point. He pointed out that the camera was in a spot the seriously enhanced the whine and that it wasn't really any worse than any other dog gearbox in real life.
And yeah, the noise would increase with speed instead of RPM's because the output shaft is spining faster.
