Default "Chattering noise" from underneath front of car...

Must be back luck lately but my car seens to be developing problems one after the other. First, stupid shop did a messed up alignment, forcing me to waste time and come back. Second time, the alignment is right but I now I get this "CHATTERING" noise when I acclerate at lower rpm. It seens as if though something is lose underneath. Do you think it was because the alignment tech forgot to tighten something during the alignment, thus causing the chattering?

Man, if I were you I would take that thing back to them and ask them to look over their handy-work to insure that they did their work correctly.

Yes, I understand, but what I'm trying to say is that is anything acutally "LOOSEN" during the alignment for adjustment. This way, I can know what to look for and say if they try to blame it on anything else?

From what it sounds like, they didn't re-torque things properly, so I'd call and ask them very politely if they could give it a quick check. Explain to the manager that you would like to continue visiting their shop but just need this fixed correctly. A good manager will see that you are right and fix it promptly.

yes there are things loosened for an alignment.

the tie rods are adjusted, and in the rear for the rear toe adjustment.

Just got back after speaking to them. They told me that there shouldn't be anything wrong because looking at the spec sheets, only the toe was adjusted for the alignment on my car and they said those things have a locking nut, even if it is loosen, it still wouldn't make a "chattering" noise. Plus the other problem I had was that it the noise was coming and going. Sometimes it was here, sometimes not....so thus they wouldn't look at since they believe it wasn't because of the alignment..... What to do.....how can I look at this thing myself????

at what times do you hear it?

does it do it when your in neutral, or when crusing on the road? or when your at a certain rpm...etc.

recreate the problem, and then inspect under the car or where you believe the noise to be occuring from.

is it possible that its simply your heatshields? or a part of your exhaust?

is it more of a rattle than a chatter?

Do you have a manual transmission? And if so, do you only hear the chattering when first starting from a dead stop? My Integra does this to intermittently, and Ive heard that it comes from the pressure plate. I dont know if theres much you can do about it unles you replace the pressure plate, but anyway, this wouldnt be related to the work you had done.

It only happens when I am acclerating from a dead stop. I'm going to have to figure out a way to find it because it's only happening when I am acclerating from. I'm positive it's not the heat shield because I took that out of my cat like YEARS AGO.
