Default Rear strut tower bar

Does installing a rear strut tower bar help in autoxing? Any big significant differences? IF so what brand is recommended, price is not a big issue. BTW, this is for a 00'Civic Si.

yeah we got a rear tower bar made by ratctive. it was 40.00 i actually bougth it at nopi nationals in atlanta. it stiffens up the frame a little. its good to have one in the rear if you got one up front. we got a lower tie bar also but i think im gonna take it off and install a set of swaybars. the lower tie bar is made by matrix.

Go with the Cusco Carbon Fiber bar. That is the one I am getting. It costs about $260 though.

it's not all about the expensive stuff when you are talking about sway bars.

Ok, well when the bar is as strong as steel yet weighs one pound it makes a difference. Carbon Fiber mas a distinct benefit for auto-x/race applications.

not a big enough difference to pay $260. face it, you bought it cause of the looks.
260 can almost get you front and rear strut bars.

c'mon now dont tell me half a pound is going to make your car .1 seconds faster at the track.

yeah it doesn't really make a difference what type of bar you buy.....how could somebody make any one better than the other besides size....yeah, and maybe carbon fiber, but they really aren't too heavy.
just buy a cheap azz one

AntGonch...lol wtf?

I have a Cusco rear bar. Not the carbon one, but round aluminum. It stiffened up the rear end a bit and would prolly help for autoxing.
I would put some sort of money into it though. DONT BUY DC SPORTS. These have got to be the most overpriced pieces of ****. I have seen people take them off of their cars bent, yes they do bend--not strong at all.

Jonas did you take that pic of the bridge? Nice stuff. If not where did you find it? I'm kind of a photo geek.

I like that , nice, it keeps your subs from floating around. $30 is really cheap, I'll have to look. Thanks for the real pic.

I do not have the $260 Carbon fiber bar, I plan on buying it. And not just for looks either!!! You think the Aluminum one weighs 1.5 lbs? That is .5 lbs more than the C-F. I think it weighs more than that!
My point is, when it comes to weight reduction, every pound counts!!! If you can add strength to the chassis without adding hardly any weight it is a bonus.

jeez youre a queer. face it you want it cause its CF. not because of the weight.. that 100-150+ extra you spend on it can go towards your motor and what not.

if you would just admit you are going to pay 260 for the CF look.. thats fine. but you know damn right you aint payin 260 for weight reduction..

why dont you get carbon fiber fender while your at it? and a carbon fiber motor..
and a CARBON FIBER BRAIN.

yea .....I wouldn't pay $150 more for a .5lb weight reduction. I know that weight is very important, but unless its a 20lb reduction......your not going to beable to notice it....it won't make a difference.

mine doesn't keep my sub from floating around...it actually made it harder for me to put my sub in my truck......my once spacious trunk is now cluttered with a strut bar, a 12" sub and a full size spare I need to do some remodeling
