Default Rough idle when lights are off. Any idea?

At idle, it pops and jerks a little, but when I turn the headlights on it idles smooth. Has anyone ever experienced this?

My mods... too many to list.

Prolly because your alternator draws more current and puts a load onto the engine. Almost all cars do it, less noticible on bigger engines. Same as turning on A/C

If u can list your mods, maybe we can help u out.. Don't leave anything engine-related out, however small/simple it may be.. I'm assuming your check engine light isn't on.. Oh and what year gsr is it?

new plugs, wire, distributor cap & rotor.
Most likely the alternator, or maybe something with the parts listed above.

before you go out abd buy a lot of parts, take it somewhere to be tested, they have all kinds of high-tech stuff to diagnoss that kinda stuff. Try honda. Have them tell you what it is, usually costs like 50.00, then fix it yourself.

the ecu senses the current draw and raises the idle to 850-900 rpm.

Clean the TB opening FIRST!
