Ok, I enjoy reading up on this forum about the 3 million performance and aesthetic mods possible on a honda civic, but is there a recommendable series of books, list of books, etc. out there worth reading. I am not expecting a run down on each and every aftermarket part, but it would be nice to understand why putting new headers on an engine boost performance, and then flip a few pages to figure out suspension mods. Honestly I haven't hit up Amazon yet, but thought I would throw it out there to the forum first.

 

i think you can probably learn enough of the basic stuff just by reading honda-tuning and other import magazines

 

these books will help you out. learn what is good and what isnt good. they got some killer build up's in them too.

i think primedia auctually ha sa couple books out.one is syling componets and there is one for forced induction.if i remember right?

Not to bash a product but i was not happy with Civic Duty.... Everything in that book i knew already... and im no pro. There may be one or 2 graphs/charts worth your time.....In my opinion definatly not worth the price tag. Save your money.

 

i have the how to build honda horsepower books by joe. and they are awesome books. there is one book that is nothing but dyno comparisons.. offers everything from AEM CAI vs Injen CAI, Mugen p28 vs JUN p28.. Different boost levels, Air fuel ratios... its a damn good book. prolly my favorite book on my crapper rack..lol

 

Honestly, 99% of the material found on this site you can't find in a book. The best way to absorb information is to have friends who are into Hondas, and read a lot of messageboards.

Plus, there's no replacement for experience!

 

Interesting response. I completely agree with the experience portion, but just wanted **** to read when I don't have internet access. Plus the time factor is an issue. Time is money, and being able to quickly pick up a book and go straight to a specific section with well written answers can be more appealing than searching through 100's of possible posts on a particular question. Thanks for the input though.
