Do i need the beaks kit?
hey guys i just installed a 22mm usdm itr swaybar on my 96LS. i've heard that without a beaks or bsq subframe reinforcement kit the sway bar will rip the bolts right out of the subframe. what are the chances of that? let me know if you have the kit, general knowledge, whatever. thanks
I jsut ordered a itr 22mm rear sway bar for my integra from the dealer.
You need the kit sence the non type-r models integra's dont have a flat rear subframe needed for the 22mm bar, thats why a plate (bsq/beaks) is put in place which gives it extra strength and the support needed. (just to much force on the frame with the bigger type-r bar) If money is a factor, the bsq kit is the cheapest in price but i hear it can rub on the abs lines so some ppl go for the beaks. (you can correct this buy adding some washers tho to the bsq kit i hear) or you could always make your own.
Hope that helps

Yes, you need it. I had a smaller 21mm bar with no reinforcement and it ripped my subframe. Either kit will work great. I've helped install both.
It's a little bit of insurance for a high price to pay if you rip the subframe.

You also need a kit so that the bar will mount closer (directly) to the subframe. This keeps the bar from exerting too much torque on the subframe and ripping the bolts out. The stock brackets that mount the stock bar away from the frame will definitely cause tearout if you use them to mount an ITR bar.

yea since you said you already installed it, make sure you dont take corners to hard. Get the reinforcements first before you go out to have fun.
You can always make your own by just adding the correct size washers. (my set up consists of multiple washers and works well, its been on for 3 years)

Because the bars made for our cars pretty much mount the same way as adding a reinforcement kit to an ITR bar.
My friend put ST bars on his Civic DX, which didn't come w/ swaybars stock, and the rear bar bushing brackets came with a plate and a spacer, EXACTLY like the BSQ kit.
