The tranny in my 97' Civic EX is gone, it comes out of gear in 2nd and 3rd under normal driving conditions. Synchros are definitly shot... Do I rebuild my transmission or buy a used one? Does anyone have experience in this area? Thanks

These trannys are pretty cheap.... id prolly go out and buy another one and save the one u have with the bad synchros and eventually build it with a quaife.

 

from experience id go w/ a rebuild. i was in the same situation and went with a new tranny. i got the tranny in june and its crapping out on me already.

 

what's the typical cost for 3rd gear synchro replacement? is it paired with 2nd or 4th?
