D15B mini me MPFI conversion
Hey everyone, I got a 89 CRX DX. and I just bought a d16z6 vtec head with intake, and fuel rail, with ECU. im currious, can I use the same wiring harness? meaning, just wire up for 4 injectors. and wire for vtec.
k, I just got my stuff today. The head needs a Dizzy. Can I use the DX one that I have on the CRX now???? Also needs a Cam gear, can I use the one from the DX head???
The ECU is a P28, and the Vtec Solonoid has 2 prongs. The headgasket is pm5, and the Timming belt is a pm3. Can I use all this on my d15????

yes you can use your dx harness. its actually easier to use the dx harness. you have to do mpfi conversion to your car then decide how you are going to engage vtec. IMO buy a conversion harness run the p28 ecu if thats the one you got with the head . and the instructions with the conversion harness will tell you how to wire up everything for vtec.
using the p28 ecu would be ideal b/c of the higher redline (i dont reccomend you rev past the stock 6200rpm w/o a built d15 bottom end the d16s can go higher, b15s cannot) however a vtec controller would work just fine.
I was thinking of using a vtec controller, but I wana keep it as stock-ish as possible, not using aftermarket electronics. and Im thinking of using integra pistons, p29, I think, I cant remember, but there higher compression, with milled head, Ported and polished. Port matched intake maybe??? and ITB's later on. maybe 12:1 would be good on 93. but would I have to get a Air Fuel Controller??? or rechiped ECU??????

wrong!
i have covered this topic before... d15 has a better rod/stroke ratio than the d16 so that means you can actually go higher rev than d16... stock d series internals can take up 7,500 rev limit.. of course in the long ran you are asking for a bended rod or blown internal if you do this everyday...
d16 1.52 rod/stroke ratio
d15 1.59 rod/stroke ratio
the rod/stroke ratio makes up for the lost 1,000 cc of displacement
