Default How to tint back window???

i heard the tint strip wont stick to the dot matrix on top of the back window, so what is the best and good looking way to tint the back, any suggestions? im going 35% all around. regular black tint.

I've heard many painting it from the inside or just sticking a piece of vinyl over it. Thats what I'm going to do.

My last car had the dotted area painted black, and it was the cleanest tint job that I had ever seen.

MY big rear window is tinted with a common vinyl foil too. It is´nt a big deal and after a few days you rub with your fingers the little bubbles out of the ruspy dots. This job should do a tinter pro, cause it is a pain in the butt to tint this big bended window.

when i first got my windows done the back was all bubbled up around the dots. it all depends on the shop you take it too. the shop i had my othr car done at stopped tinting since the tinter got quit. a month or so later i was in and they got a new tinter. and he said he could put black vinyl on the insde and it would look good. so i bought some vinyl and he fixed it for me.

you really can't tell my windows are tinted cause of the flash, but you get the idead with the vinyl. it matches the black trim around the windows

You guys on the thread are right. I own a pro tint shop here in Sebring and I can tell you that cars like our and similar (with the wide dot matrix band) need some special treatment to make them look good after tinted. We do the rear window in one piece (not old school tinting with the bunch of strips or two pieces, ugly). You need at least a 36" wide roll of film, your choice of type, and heat shrink it to shape to the glass surface form. Prior to install it, you need to carefully sand the dot matix out with 400 wet sand paper or similar (that's the trick to make it stick). Eventhough, the result doesn't look to good, we can install a black vynil strip upon request so it looks right. That's what I did to mine and looks sweet!

RHGSR01: I don't know how the tinting regulations are in you state, but I think 35% or 36% in our cars is a little too light for my taste, it will look elegant though but it won't offer the protection you need. Mostly for the back area. I would go with at least 20%
