Hey guys, just got back from meeting up with a close buddy who called me with a problem.

It all started with his check engine light on, thought it was his pesky O2 sensor that acts up once and a while and continued to drive it.

Just before gettin onto the highway, he could hear the motor tick. Pulled over, checked the oil and it was dry. Got some oil from a local store and put it in. Started the car up it was good to go. Continued driving it for a bit till the noise came back again.

Pulled over checked under the hood and found the spark plug cover cracked in 2 pieces with the spark plug wire pushing up through it.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on this situation? What could have caused this, and do you think the motor is cooked? Hello B18C5 :D

 

that does not look like you blew the motor looks like if the spark plug just broke probably over torque or whanot. try too do a comp test and then see what up or a leak down test

 

i think not,but might need to open it up . how long was the car running with no oil. when was the last time u checked before that day .for the spark plug how long did you have them for . for the cracking might of been cracked with you got them during shipping

 

its not my car, i will relay the info and get an update for tomorrow!

hoppefully all it is, is just the spark plug!

 

Motor probably isnt blown, but definitely might need to be checked internally for excessive wear, since it had no oil.
