a differnt sort of intake question
this is not another were can i get a cheap/what is a good intake question. no this is a question about the sheer dynamics of the intake
when looking online, and at my friends cars, it seems like all aftermarket intakes have an exposed filter, iceboxes excluded,
so my question is this, if the intake, has a pipe that snakes down to the front of the bumper and feeds air via high pressure, wouldent having an exposed filter disperse the pressure throughout the engine bay, resulting in a huge loss of power?
thx in advance

Ram Air does not in any way actually work. Having an intake in front of the bumper will only loose power from long piping and attract moron ricers.
Yeah, any decent piping with a good filter (Apex'i, K&N) will give you a slight gain depending on your engine. Intake doesn't really matter all that much anyway. Power is going to come from cams, compression, good header, head work, etc...
