Default Trying to Weld my JDM Conversion

I have a quick question. Are the radiator supports made out of steel or alumunium??? I ask because im practicing my welds on the radiator support that i got with my kit but my welds look like ****.

I know some of you have welded your radiator support to complete your conversion, could you guys give me some pointers?? This is all that is left and i can wire up my HID lights. ALso, i have a lincoln 3200 welding machine and im using innerflux steel wire.

Thanks.

You guys love pictures

made of mild steel. grind off all paint, wipe with acetone. low heat and wirefeed, short maybe 2 second tacks, semi overlapping the other with a second or two pause in between, just long enough to let the hot weld lose its orange color will help keep you from burning through. take youre time, practice on similar gauge sheetmetal for a while first.

should sound like bacon sizzling. if welds are lumped up too much, hair less wire, hair more heat. if burning through, opposite.

If didn't completely cut off all of your USDM radiator support, then you should plug weld the JDM one to it for better support, although most people just cut it off because it's easier.
